embode (embody) stands for Expressive Minds Bonding Over Diverse Experiences. A fictional virtual communal space created for current and former Black college students at Predominantly White Institutions to converse openly, foster community and build relationships through shared experiences.
Illustrations
The illustrations are minimal in nature, featuring faceless portraits that are simple, yet full of personality. The faceless aspect of the illustrations are meant to highlight the natural essence and embodiment of the Black identity, without the use of any specific identifying factors in order to achieve a true sense of community.
Avatars
About 100 different avatars were created to afford individuals the opportunity to personalize their profiles in a unique manner, without getting caught up in physical traits. By doing so, they would able to achieve a sense of individuality and anonymity.
